Received an offer for non- tech CCM role and wondering if I should accept. I feel like I was lowballed and downleved despite having 6 YOE (relevant but not in tech). Not sure it will be beneficial to leave my current role for this offer to get my foot in the door.

I’m at the cap for salary at the level/role and can’t negotiate offer any higher.

At work I tend to eat just to eat. Any advice on how to break the habit?

I’m extremely out of shape and have just started going to the gym. When i do squats, like literally by squat 5 my knees are hurting. But i know my form isnt wrong. Do i just have bad knees or is this normal when ur out of shape?

I am trying to practice a version of intuitive/mindful eating - honoring my body’s hunger cues and not sticking to a timeline or plan as to what and when to eat. But tbh years of “dieting” has screwed over my ability to recognize hunger cues. I suddenly realize my hunger after not eating for 10+ hours and then I’m ravenous and would just eat anything. Ethics are a glorified way to protect companies from liability. Change my mind.

I’ve long disliked the term ethics. Definitions of ethics all refer to morals. Morals are very personal and vary a lot from person to person, culture to culture. Law is how we as a society express our preferences and impose rules and restrictions on ourselves. So the question should never be about whether companies can be ethical. What does that mean? One person thinks eating meat is unethical, another thinks it’s perfectly ethical. Companies should focus on complying with the law.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear abt the layoffs at AirBnB and my heart goes out to your coworkers who are affected. How can a company approach restructuring in a way that is ethical?

In small companies (especially startups), where HR may not really exist or the HR person may be the main violator, how do you deal with inappropriate behavior. If a person has been there a long time and is "too important to fire" how do you handle them?
