Only if they’re in an index fund.

Buying at IPO has not been a smart idea for the last 10 years. Wait for the initial hype to die or after the lock up period ends.
IPOs are just ways to dump on the masses/retirement funds.

They changed the rules who insiders could GTFO. You not know a scam when you see one?
You mean the indices change so that they would let spacex into indices? That doesn’t really affect insiders. They have lock ups
I’m buying 100 shares and then forgetting about it. Elon has a successful track record and SpaceX has a very optimistic future ahead - not too worried about the detractors.
Wait for the drop. Never buy at IPO price.

I’ll kick a few $k in and see what happens.
Yea I’m buying at ipo price just to say I did. Not more than 100. I think if it has a quick bounce before the inevitable crash I might sell and buy when it dips. I hate Elon but wouldn’t hurt to keep a few shares.

You won’t be able to make a quick profit. Most brokerages don’t let you immediately sell if you buy the ipo, for example fidelity etc
You get a violation and after multiple, you’re banned from participating in an ipo
I’ve heard this too and asked my Morgan Stanley guy. He said I shouldn’t worry about this. Who knows?
