I would caution you to take the input in this thread as applicable to anything but one singular office. For example, 0% of what's been said in this thread is true at my Midwestern office. But I know it's somewhat true at a select few others.
Everything depends on the local leadership. The Boston office is known to work a lot with BCG, higher ed and R&D. Expected salary range for SP is about right, but varies above and below that across the nation.
Slalom rates do not top out at $200, at least not everywhere. I have two clients right now paying a blended rate higher than that, and my personal role bills out far above that.
Have a frank conversation about what's gonna make you happy. Regarding career progression - it's a lot less emphasized at Slalom. You'll progress if you set goals and meet them. But you won't progress just by occupying a role for months on a calendar. You have to create your path.
Hope this helps.
20-plus years experience and top MBA if that matters at this point
What practice area? Technology Enablement SPs would be 160-190k base + 20% bonus.
Customer experience?
Ugh prob in the same range. Slalom rates kind of top out at $200 an hour. This may have changed since my data points are a few years old
Wow. Thanks. What is the next level after that, and how long do people generally stay in the role before promotion?
Practice Area Lead -> Practice Director. 3-5 years in SP I would say..again depends on market and practice. Cloud enablement is big..not sure about Salesforce. Slalom historically goes all in on a tech stack for a few years and then pivots. Circa early 2010s, they were big on SharePoint, Office 365..last few years all in on custom dev, cloud and devops with AWS
@SC1 - those data points are not localized to a single office. Multiple offices
