So- Accenture is complicated and it's also simple at the same time. Levels go from 1-11, 11 being analyst - 1 being CEO. In c&m progression goes from 11- a, 10 sa, 9 c, 7 m, 6 sm, 5 principal, 4 level 1 md. CDO doesn't have the same, hence I think associate manager is a level 8. From level 7 on - you are considered an executive and get a different bonus structure.
I think Accenture could have done a better job naming their groups and describing the difference
Haaaahahaha good luck, even I'm curious
There* wow I shouldn't get hired anyway...
Associate Manager = Consultant (first promo after analyst/sr analyst) in Client Delivery & Operations (less pay than Client & Market which is moreso Consulting at every other firm).
Systems Integration = Tech Consulting everywhere else
Thanks for trying 😞
Facts: I'm CD&O and have been client facing consulting ever since joining. I do all the same work as CM folks on my team, even manage them. I do get paid less. I went to a shitty school and got hired after working contracts in my industry for two years.
I also get paid more than most my CM counter parts too.
Also to be blunt - cdo is to compete with the Indian IT firms and c&m is to compete with the domestic firms
To add some more confusion. As an analyst, I've been on both c&m and cdo projects.
Yes it's in CDO...operations. I'm within our mobilization practice to help implement and set up new processes when deals are signed. Associate manager is level 8 between consultant and manager.
The client & market (c&m) is more client facing, that's usually what we compare to client delivery and operations (CD&O)
Am I helping? 🙃
Business and systems integration is a catch all. It doesn't mean much, it's just where tech/digital folks are aligned unless they have a more specific specialty, as I understand it
C&M vs CD&O actually matters most, then alignment within the firm to a specific organization or practice. The titles (like business and systems integration analyst, for instance) matter a lot less, and don't determine much about your available roles.
But wasn't their also a group where they were taking away benefits or something?
That was CDO and happened about a year ago when they were transitioning people on AO deals from core consulting (c&m) into CDO. They reduced PTO and pay for some.
Anyone want to shed light on where workday sits? My guess is CDO but what is this Cloud First stuff?
I'm in Cloud First and have seen a mix of my colleagues in both CD&O and C&M. Primarily CD&O, however.
I don't understand it but I think there are 13 levels although analysts in consulting/strat start at 11. My understanding although not confirmed is that the CEO and his reports are not part of the whole 1-13 level system. Would be interesting if this could be confirmed. Btw, I heard this in a public forum so don't think I'm breaking any rules here.
A lot of very wrong answers here, which is weird... OP, generally, it's relatively random. I'm CDO, client facing, always traveling, and get laid more than my CM counter parts. However, you want to err on the side of CM, but I wouldn't let the CDO thing deter you if it was CDO or bust. That said, CDO gets 4% 401k match and 16 days PTO where CM gets 6% and 25 respectively.
