Bain & Company Hello Folks. I'm an Indian guy looking for consulting opportunities in Germany. Currently working with EY. Would love to check for any opportunities the country. Any referrals or leads would be really helpful. Thank you.

Try a different company. I’m in house and would NEVER go back to private practice. The work is so much more interesting.

I did this…. Was in a firm, then went in house after 10 years. Stayed in house for three years then went back to a firm. I have kids and as I was promoted in house I began working 9-10 hour days in solid meetings with much less flexibility and predictably. I did love my co workers and my job, but I saw that there was little to no opportunities past senior counsel and not much room for pay increases. I also felt I was losing some of my litigation skills. I never worked in big law… I did insurance defense. I now do plaintiff work where I control my schedule and work 4 days a week remotely. Much more flexibility. I should hit around 340k this year… slightly more than my in house role. I also feel like I have solid skills and am less worried about lay offs. I don’t regret my choice… hope that helps!!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Go for it if you think it’d be a good fit. But at your level, could you instead target a GC or DGC level role at a bigger corp to level up your comp/exposure to interesting matters?
This is definitely one of the options under consideration. Kind of a 'devil you know" situation with the culture, corporate politics, etc., but not off the table if the comp and WLB elements are also there. Almost seems like I'd be looking for a unicorn though
