Current TC: 200k
Net worth: 300k, readily available 170k in stocks, hysa and cash
Current rent: 2000 per month
Age: 30

Wonder if anyone has any excel model or a rule to determine how much I can afford or should go for?

I paid off all my debt (mostly student loans) earlier this year and haven’t changed my spending or lifestyle and the savings have been piling up. It’s getting addicting just watching it jump up after every paycheck. Feels amazing to no longer be in crippling debt and finally move on with my life.

So student loans aren’t being forgiven this year…right? I think it’s time I open the flood gates and dump all I’ve been saving towards my loans. Or should I leave 10k in hopes of forgiveness later on?

I’m a first yr in NYC biglaw (2nd yr in Fall) — is 3.2k for one bedroom in BK (think downtown BK, carroll garden, Williamsburg) too much? Always have lived in manhattan so I’m not sure what reasonable rent for one bedroom in BK is.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later.
