Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

That does seem really low, especially if your city has a HCOL. I know the job market isn't very good right now, but have you considered looking for a different job? Sometimes changing jobs is the best way to get your salary to where it should be.
Tbh, I've been looking for jobs since about 6 weeks in of the salary review being point blank ignored. From my perspective, they've essentially got me working across 3 teams and have been for a while before the promotion, helping those constantly while being expected to deliver sprint goals simultaneously and it appears, while essentially doing 3 jobs, I'm not being paid correctly for one on my job title. The ignoring was the icing on the cake for me as I find it rather disrespectful - at least tell me no. However, as you say, I'm finding the market to be rather difficult atm although each company that has been in touch has been offering more, and had agencies telling me I basically got an "inflation increase" - hence why I thought I'd ask here.
To add, I immediately sent a formal salary review to my manager who ignored it for nearly 3 months before giving me what I felt like were excuses. Other staff members with less technical skills and less responsibility, are being paid up to £8k more. And a new staff member who joined support 2 months ago is earning what I started junior Dev at and has been "given decision making authority" even though I trained him.
