I knew after 2 weeks that the place I'm at was the wrong fit. I started looking after 6 months. I should've started sooner. Don't waste your time just sitting there if you know it's not right.
I haven't left yet. I've been here 9 months. Just had a 3rd interview yesterday though, so waiting to hear back. I've found that 1. No one cares in this industry if you jump ship quickly as long as it doesn't become a habit and 2. People seem to be very understanding of "wrong cultural fit" as an answer to why you're leaving so soon bc they've probably experienced it themselves at some point.
@AD - how’d you leave? / what did you say? I am thinking sooner rather than later (I.e. 3mo tops).
I'm experiencing the same thing (3 months in) and also wondered when is too soon. While I'm not actively looking for a new job, I wouldn't say no if an opportunity presents itself.
Had the same thing happen to me at a previous job. Could tell 2 weeks in they had misrepresented the opportunity & wouldn’t get me anywhere. It might be worthwhile to try talking to your current manager? Like a one month check in. I had that conversation a little late (right around the time an old interview randomly turned into an immediate offer) but they may be able to help you out at least in the short term
