Hard to beat consultant paychecks in the industry, specifically early in the career like you are now
You are in SAP but “change projects frequently”? That’s unusual..I’ve been an average of 15 months on my engagements. SAP implementations are huge projects. And, no matter how great the client, was always happy to get some new experience after that timeframe 😏
But to your point of “equivalent jump”: as a senior, and at only 4.5 years of experience, it will be very hard to find a similar salary job in the industry. Change from SAP to strategy is also not as easy as it sounds, since very different skills involved. I would definitely wait out the M promotion and if you are interested in strategy, try to get on a project where you can learn. One year more in consulting is nothing when in comes to your overall lifetime work, but can get you in a significant better position in the Industry if you stick around just a bit longer to prove Manager skills. Good luck! 🍀
