I’m planning on quitting my job but I am working out of town. I feel like I’m having to babysit the project Monday-Saturday 7AM - 5PM. It’s becoming unbearable. A client developer group just told me they reached terms to “buy equity in a lease.” From what they’ve told me, if we were setting this up fresh, I’d do a new LLC and easily handle capital contributions, buy-sell, etc. in the new LLC agreement. However, here the partner had a long-term lease on the underlying RE that our group wants to develop as a concept. Lease assignment to new LLC is dicey, but I’m thinking maybe we set up a Mgmt services company to contract w/ the partner-tenant entity?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed.
