I would recommend delaying by a few months. Given the environment, the bar for rolling out an offer would be higher than usual. The appetite for salary negotiations would also be lower. Offers would likely need approval from the very top. The number of open roles would also be lesser at the moment. FWIW - it took 2 months to get the offer another month of salary negotiation and 2 more months for visa transfer.
Google can take 3-4 months for PM roles (Source: my experience)
I would start by applying when you feel you’re ready to interview and then let your hiring manager know that you’re looking at an October start date. In my experience google, amazon, and FB are pretty reasonable with delayed starts as long as you’re not asking for 6+ mos.
Awesome, thank you. Wanted to know if they are okay with delayed start dates and based on your experience seems they are, thanks

About a month or a bit less
Agree on things taking longer than normal....I would give yourself at least 3-4 months given current conditions
All of these companies are moving at a different pace right now ( Facebook is hiring fast and taking ~ 3-4 weeks to offer and an additional week for negotiation, Google is hiring very slow 5-7 weeks to offer, massive delays with team match, Amazon is moving same pace but salary negotiations are taking longer than usual, Apple is moving same pace but hiring very selectively. I would not count on being able to time it so that you get all of them to make you an offer around the same time and diversify with larger FANG-like companies to make sure you have several compering offers.
