Starting at MIT this Fall and hoping to work at Bain next summer. Attending the summer ExperienceBain events, but what else should I start doing right now? What are the best ways to prep for case interviews?

Why do recruiters insist on introductory meetings even when you say you aren’t looking? Do they think they can trick you into taking a position somewhere else? Or do they really think that intro meeting will mean that you come back to them in a couple of years to use them?

Just getting tired of saying no on the cold calls and them insisting on talking to me.

Any insight on technical part of the interview for McKinsey internal manager role of strategy and operations? I spoke to the recruiter today and they scheduled the interview for tomorrow not giving me any time to prepare. A little unexpected but I don’t want to miss the opportunity. Any details about working at McKinsey internally or their technical recruitment process is greatly appreciated.

How would you prioritize these task in order:

1. review 15 new applications for a top priority position
2.answer a question from a HM regarding a candidate he would like to interview
3. Catch up on emails from hiring managers
4. schedule a final interview
5. source 30 candidates as no one else can do it that day
6. Send check in emails to candidated waiting to hear back after an interview
7. Finish hiring process for candidate before sending out job offer

Preparing for a final round interview at Meta and the recruiter mentions they’ve instilled a Product Design “hiring freeze” effective until August.

I’m still interviewing, but if I make it through, they can’t actually hire me until this freeze subsides.

Is this a red flag? Likelihood it actually is lifted in August? If it’s economy based, I would be surprised if by August the market is better not worse.

I have "final round" interviews next week for an internal HR role at a consulting firm. First interview was behavioral, second was technical. Both went well. For this round, I'm meeting with the head of talent and head of HR for 30 min each.

For those of you that are citizen / PR. Do you get tons of Singapore recruiters chasing you for roles which are way out of your focus area, getting interviews done only to be ghosted after? I had a few of these and decided to not entertain anymore. What's the normal application timeline for big law. From application to first contact, etc?

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?
