Starting at MIT this Fall and hoping to work at Bain next summer. Attending the summer ExperienceBain events, but what else should I start doing right now? What are the best ways to prep for case interviews?

I had two interviews last week at good PI firms. Hopefully I will finally get out of ID for 2023. I’m so done with it. I know plaintiffs work has its own challenges but I’m so over the tedious time entries and clients cutting my time and micromanaging my every decision. Anyone else made the move out of ID, to PI or something else? How’s it going?

Those who do financial modeling at work: for case study in interviews, is it bad practice to submit a model based on a premade template, assuming that I understand all formulas and incorporate my own reasonable assumptions? For reference, I don’t work with fundamental modeling (quant background) so I needed to get a template to teach myself. TIA

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. I had a hectic last three months working up to 16 hours a day due to my project. During this time I took advantage of convenient food which isn’t always the best. Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)
