I got an automated mail today saying:

Thoughts on long-term (5-30 years) fate of the market for consulting in London? I’m considering a move from outside UK but some have argued that London market is “just a fight over the increasingly diminishing pie”, despite the temporary uptick in consulting work now to deal with corona& Brexit. I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

This winter just doesn’t freaking end. This is absolutely ridiculous. 🙄

Does your firm find out why you failed a clearance ? Asking bc I got fired from my first job out of college a couple years ago and didn’t report it on it company background check. I’m afraid if I fail my public trust, my current firm will find out and fire me for not reporting it on my prior employers.

Hello everyone. I will be transitioning from the Navy soon and want to work in the cybersecurity field. I have an active secret clearance, BS in strategic intelligence, working on a masters in cybersecurity, and taking Security+ in December. I've been working at a government agency for 6 months, helping to stand up a new team. The job involves interacting with real estate developers. One of the developers reached out to recruit me for a similar position that will pay more than $50k my current salary. I feel guilty, especially since I'd interact with my current team on the other side. It's a hard to turn down that salary, though I feel guilty since my team is thin, and it's only been 6 months!

Any tips on navigating this situation?
