Struggling to decide between offers, because I don't know much about either industry (I prepared for law school for a while, and did not intern at either company). Would love to hear some thoughts! Both are in SF btw.

A. Econ consulting (NERA/Cornerstone/CRA)

B. EY Strategy and Transaction M&A transactions?

I'm not really sure what either team actually do (which is terrible), but I heard EY splitting and Econ Consulting with not so good exit opps. Salary does not matter much. Thanks!

I haven't really heard much about Econ Consulting, so I can't speak to them much. Maybe check Glassdoor and read some of the reviews. I do know that EY is a solid company and a good name to have on your resume. Also plenty of opportunity to move up the ranks in terms of career growth. It would also probably help if you do some research to learn about the roles so you can determine whether they align with your desired career path. Good luck!

I would personally go for EY because the exit opportunities are better from what I've seen

I agree with the comments above. I would go with EY if I were you. They have a really great reputation.

Thanks for all the comments! I will do some more research for sure

Hi all - just joining and looking for some guidance! I am currently in an IT internship position (making pretty solid money considering) and following this summer I will stay on part time during my senior year (discussing a full-time job offer after already). I’m getting my computer science degree, so I would like to do something more technical in the workplace when I graduate. How do I advocate myself for that to my manager without sounding unappreciative of the position I’m in?

PSA: The grass is greener in a regional firm if you can lateral over as a partner. I lateralled over last year and my billable expectation is only 1700. I have my own clients and make about 100k (after bonus) more than I did as a senior associate. The upside is probably capped because top equity partners probably make 1.5 to 2 million here but it is all worth it for the WLB. I only take on what I want to do and I help out other partners only when I feel like it.

I’ve recently left my job (unhappy with it) and am applying for new work. I have a few irons in the fire at the moment. I’m curious about a trend I am seeing: I like to think I’ve well documented my abilities and functions in my CV, as well as my portfolio. I’ve noticed that for some of these jobs that I can check every single box in the job description, I won’t even get an interview. I’m wondering if many of these jobs are posted for internal hires, but some stay open for weeks. What gives?

Dear All Fisbowls,

I have a query. Request all of yours suggestion and if you have done something similar to this please share.

You have resigned and have offer in hand suppose 15 fixed.
Meanwhile you get another offer but they will give around 17 fixed.
I am thinking to quote my in hand offer as 17 fixed with changes in it and share it with them.
So that they can give me around 20 fixed.
Request to share honest detail here.
