Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily. Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work, good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

Well. It’s a drop in prestige so the promotion seems rational
In same boat. I’m not making a move and starting over on my promotion timeline. And I know people are lied to about promotion timeframes to get them in the door. They told me “oh well you’ll get promoted much faster, so don’t feel like you’re starting over.” Yeah right we invented that game.
I want a title too. I have pride, ya know.
Isn’t SC at Deloitte the same as Manager at other big 4s? So the partner wants to demote you?
Can’t tell if D1 is being funny
You don’t want a title you want a pay raise
Ya, going to another big 4 for no extra money is a waste of time
Pride? Haven’t heard that name in years
D1, there are plenty of cases where it would make sense. One example: the company you're at is complete rubbish at the practice you're in and you get an offer at a competitor that is a leader in that area
And the prestige. Cut above the rest of course
K1, Manager takes slightly longer to get to at Deloitte vs. the rest of the Big Four so a first year Manager elsewhere might be the equivalent of an SC about to be promoted to Manager at Deloitte.
Regardless, Deloitte tends to undervalue non-Deloitte experience to the point where it'll even bring people in at a level below where they're at anyway
Maybe they didn’t think you fully qualified for M because you lack experience in xyz area. Perhaps you are great at client work and have experience with leading a team, but lack in BD area. Have you sold anything at your current position?
🤢🤢🤢🤮
I would turn it down. You’ll end up on teams where you’re staffed as an SA / SC with more experience than the homegrown Manager...happened to me at Deloitte and I had to carry my less experienced manager throughout the project.
