Forget the book. Take as many simulated exams as you can - that will work best. Also, you will have to study for this. Common sense does not get you through the answers.
I used the Rita book years ago and took a ton of her short tests at the end of each chapter. Can't remember if I took a whole length practice test but knowing me, I didn't. I passed just fine. Oh and I crammed for 3.5 days, that's it.
I got mine last week. Here is what I used. 1. https://edward-designer.com/web/pmp/ 2. Rita PMP exam prep. I rented the PMBOK but never used it. Also, there are so many online free mock tests, I would suggest taking those a week or two before the exam. Good luck!
Head First PMP and pass the first time. Just go through the book and do the exercises and take the practice test several times. (They have the test online as well) When you take the test, I recommend brain-dumping your notes on the scratch paper prior to starting so you know which formula goes with what and don't have to spend time thinking about it. Good luck!
You have access to Skillsoft courses with practice questions at the end of each module. Also, there's a PMP knowledge sheet that's worth memorizing -- all of the process groups, knowledge areas, and formulas.
I used Rita as well, took the end of chapter questions, used the fastrack downloadable exams from Rita. It got old after a while. Took 6 practice exams (4 from fastrack that repeated the questions after a while). I memorized the KA/process chart and formulas. I did not read pmbok but Rita twice. Took it last week and passed. I was consistently getting 75% on the practice exams and questions. I think it's about getting a baseline on the areas and filling your gaps up to 75/80%
Its not that hard, just use the pmbok and if you are taking a class, the simulated exams are close
I also vote Rita's, I had a lot of success with it. I have loaned my Rita's stuff (8th edition guide and audio hot topics) to two others that passed.
Rita book and tons of practice tests (comes with Rita) is all you need (memorize of course). No need to read pmbok
Took the Deloitte bootcamp, they provided headfirst and I bought Rita's
Is Rita eBook or practice exams available for a free download?
No OP, not that I know of
Skillsoft is the best!!!
+1 for Rita's.
