PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Tech in itself is a specialty. What is the ideal role that you're targeting? And why ?
OP, I don't think moving to industry as a tech PMO is going to be difficult. I think you're looking at the wrong job postings .I.e. those that are categorically expecting a speciality. I would suggest, as a mere example, to look for tech program manager roles advertised on Amazon. You'll be amazed at the different profiles they seek - some specialty and some that will fall in line with your experience. Sell your story my man
Tell them your specialty is user journeys and human centred design and being the conduit between business and tech engineering. You are the babelfish that turns a pile of tech into commercial value.
Did you read my resume? 🤣
I left consulting to get into PMO.... Applied to a lot of PM positions and got lucky with a big firm that was looking for a ex consultant to do PM work... Worked with a lot of different projects most being application implementations in the current role....
come to EY
How old are you ?
4 years out of college. Age is less relevant because I was in the military before college.
Generalized PMO days are long gone for the most part. All those who rode the PMP wave 10 years ago and made a career and money off it got lucky. Nowadays almost all PM roles are technical project manager roles... Or scrum master at best
