My instinct is to not get too influenced by the idea that a machine may review your resume. If it's cleanly formatted and written in a natural style it shouldn't be a problem. Where things may be difficult is that potential employers can program ATS to have what amount to knockout questions, meaning if a resume is missing some important thing it may be discarded before human eyes see it. It's hard to anticipate what that kind of programming could entail, so all you can do is write a solid resume and hope for the best.
I have zero faith that I would ever get an interview from just applying for a role. Referrals and reaching out to recruiters are the strongest ways to get an interview.
You want it to have the right buzzwords to pass ATS, but it still has to appeal to the human that's going to read it after. I still do my resumes with a human first approach, and then go through to add in the keywords I need to add.
