The last position I held at my last job was as AP Analyst and as it was my very first job in the financial services sector I was not aware of how unprepared for the job market I would be after a layoff. We didn't utilize any of the basic industry-standard software. Heck, we barely used Excel which is crazy for a HUGE company.

My question is what would be the best things for me to do to get ready for a real AP role? Which things would make me stand out the most to a hiring manager?
