Well, I was the one who broke it off. I couldn’t get him to love me the way I needed or even respect me enough. It’s been 6 weeks of not seeing each other. We messaged this week. He doesn’t get it…. In many ways, I feel the same as before I enrolled. I don't understand how because I've lived so many things since then, but at the core, I feel like it hasn't affected me. It's weird. Am I missing something?

The death of my best friend in combat will forever haunt me, no matter how hard I want to accept it and let it go. I've been remembering every day since I came back. It's so hard to deal with this on my own.

The feeling of avoiding mines buried on the gorund is one I carry at all times, and I remember the fear and the anxiety at every step. I still feel like this today, like every decision I make will lead to disaster.

Many movies romanticize the sacrifice of one soldier and leave them as a hero, but I have always thought that I hate that. Why would someone need to lose his life to be a hero? I believe the mere fact that we put our life at risk in service is enough to be a hero

How does one decide to take risks and apply for news job when the state of the economy and the world is ever changing. We know salaries are going up, but employers struggle doling out the cash. Is it better to stick where you are or jump into something new?

My advice: Concentrate on yourself above anything else, follow orders but also know how those orders affect you, serve your country but never forget you are serving yourself first. The objective is not to die honorably but to survive dutifully. What else would you add?
