For anyone reading this — I’d send the partner a self executing email warning them for CYA.

(Hi partner, absent objection, at THIS TIME I am going to send client XXX).

So you’re my twin! I do this regularly.

You’ll be fine! They can’t blame you for taking initiative when they aren’t responding

They can if your judgment call that the client needed a reply was wrong.

Good luck. I’ll say a prayer for you.

If the client is pinging you, then I get it. If not, it would be best to wait until the partner surfaces.

I’ve been having a bit of trouble working with one partner at a new firm. There are definitely things I can/need to work on for improvement, but I’ve been practicing for four years and have had no trouble with other partners/peers before. This partner sent an email to me with bills for one client of his/hers I worked on and now looped in a practice management person to have a ‘management call’ (prob to talk about billing less..) Should I be looking for other opportunities?
