There seems to be two career paths. Jump from company to company always seeking the better pay or better benefits. Or stick with the same company for long periods. I have pretty much stuck to the latter.
Development and pay growth may be a little slower.
But my benefits like vacation and sick time are almost irreplaceable at this point. What the more common path these days? What do you choose for your own career?

I stayed within the same company but changed to a sister company for a higher pay and more opportunities for growth.

Switching from job to job for financial gain is good for the short term. But longevity with one or two companies looks good on a resume.

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.
