Yeah I had a client join a Skype meeting and now it always shows them in emails as available or offline instead of presence unknown. I can chat them like any EY person.
Can you elaborate how to do this a little more. This is a great find
Good job Sherlock
Lol jk, I had no idea.
Can you add them to chat too?
I ping my siblings at other companies and I have colleagues that chat with their clients. Our network settings allow it but companies can lock it down, both companies need to allow it.
You’re always able to do this depending on the external companies you’re trying to message
Send the person an outlook invite with a Skype meeting link inside it. Then chat with them in the meeting. End the meeting and you’ll probably still be able to chat with them.
How do you send a Skype meeting link? I see it coming from my clients but I can't figure out how to send one myself
Most of the time you can just type in their email address in Skype search bar and add to contact list. That tells you pretty quick if you can chat with them or not.
This only happens if the person you try to add is one of EYs clients
I left EY a month ago but still IM my best friend that still works there and I didn’t need them to join a Skype meeting. Just type in their email and double click to chat as you would internally
