I know it can be frustrating. But aside from tenure, the company also considers education and certifications as a qualification for promotion. It is a lesson learned for everyone.
Yeah but he's always been at the bottom on overall performance and I've always been at the top....
This is the reason why I really don't trust it when someone from the management will tell me that I am considered for a certain position unless I see it formally in paper. They don't know how frustrating and heartbreaking that is.
Yeah I'm that way now but I do have it in an email
I've been working with the company for almost 4 years and I thought I'd be in consideration for the position but it looks like they decided to go with someone else.
I understand how frustrating this situation can be. It is important to remember that your employer has the right to choose the most qualified candidate for the position. It is also important to remember that there are other opportunities for advancement within the company. If you are still interested in a management position, you should reach out to your Store Manager or District Manager and express your interest. You should also make sure to continue working hard and showcasing your value to the company. Good luck!
I have talked to my Store Manager about it and my District Manager about me moving up numerous times and my Store Manager will say "Okay then we will go over the MIT book together" and then it never happens and I have to bring it up to him again and he'll ask me didn't I hand you one? And I'll tell him "no". I hate to be the person that always brings it up because I feel like I would be annoying him even though I know I'm not and I always remind him of a lot of stuff that needs done that he forgot as well..... Sorry for the rant I'm just tired of being overlooked in the company to be honest
When your firm doesn't seem to value the effort and commitment you put in, it can be incredibly upsetting. It is crucial to keep in mind that numerous aspects could be taken into account when making decisions concerning promotions and other employment chances. You can discuss the matter with your shop manager and district manager, as well as your career goals and how you can move closer to achieving them. You might also search for positions within the business that might better suit your objectives. Maintaining a professional demeanor and remaining committed to your work goals are crucial.
Conn’s is a pretty bad company. You can be a regional sales manager and make maybe 1/3 of what I made being in sales for 2 years.
