After being told that I would absolutely be in consideration for an Assistant Store Manager position a month or two later I find out from my Store Manager that my co worker who hasn't even been with the company a year and has management experience (unlike me) that the District Manager wants to make him a Store Manager Bench position. I took it as a slap in the face because I had no idea that was even a thought in his mind

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

Just finished my degree in managerial science and have a minor in marketing and a Sales certificate. Have had 4 different management jobs. Just accepted an opportunity as a district manager for an Insurance company. Not 100% sure about Commission-based only. Has anyone transitioned from Strategic Sales to Corporate Strategy? I love the strategic thinking and problem solving in sales and want to transfer those skills to a corporate role where I can have more influence on my company’s strategy and investments.

I have an interview coming up for an AE role at a cyber security company, as part of this I need to give a presentation on companies I would target and why.
Any advice on trends in cyber security at the moment or industries that are currently vulnerable and would be a good to target?

How would you suggest dealing with a toxic boss? They gossip and seem to purposely be vague about critical information, likely so they can't be held accountable.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
