This horse has been beaten to death but suggestions on Amex Plat vs Brilliant for Marriott loyalists? I already have Gold that gives 4X on dining and supermarkets (my biggest expenses) and don’t wanna part with that. No I don’t want CSR, thank you.

If your primary interest is getting Marriott points, go for one of their branded cards. Amex Plat is a good general purpose travel card, but you won’t be able to earn Marriott points the same way.

like

The best part about Amex is that you pay for the privilege of being charged to borrow money. And then they convince people to celebrate the ability to waive the fee if they bring Amex enough transaction money

I used to have the SPG Amex back in the day, and used it as my daily card. Currently have the AX Plat. AXP is a much better all around card for travel benefits, especially if you fly Delta a lot or use airports with Centurion lounges.

I would only get a co-branded card again if my singular focus were racking up points in that loyalty program or if it conferred an attractive enough exclusive benefit. FWIW I’ve never seriously considered the Delta Reserve in lieu of the AXP, for example.

I love Amex plat as I can convert 1:1 to Singapore Air miles
