I have an offer from Capco, it was much lower then I expected for the SC level EA at £80k. I'm at a stable role at a bank with a great WLB. My wife is a front line work. So I can take care of the baby, with the next coming soon. My dilemma is, become a consultant or stay where I am at. Consulting looks attractive as I would be speed up my career progression. Though the travel costs and child care does not warrant the base salary Capco Should I take the hit and join capco?

Move to California :)
Still plenty of jobs that severely underpay in California too. I see it everyday on indeed. Tons of jobs that pay around 20 hourly and even less than that.
I have a bachelors degree and over 10 years of experience. I started off as a receptionist, even with a bachelors degree. In this business experience is more valuable than a degree. You’re going to have to take the Hitt for a few years. But you will grow stick to it.
I'm in missouri..its all about skills and experience
If you are not in Kansas city, st louis or Springfield I can definitely see that
Are you new to the industry? If so you’re going to have to work some of those jobs first to land a a good role, but unless you’re in a rural area there should be higher paying jobs to work towards.
What do attorneys make in Missouri? And what's the hourly billing rate for a para? In NYC, paras are profit makers: billed at 425 an hour, paid 55
Depends on the type of law..are you talking low end insurance defense?
And I agree that’s still too low for even a new paralegal.
I agree with Senior Paralegal 1 as I also used to work in KC. Also, may I suggest you look at other industries like insurance, banking, investment management, and financial services as those industries may offer higher starting salaries but you will still need to put in time to get rewarded with higher salary. I have 20+ years in as a paralegal.
