You’re not alone. As bad as the entry-level pay was, those were the best years I spent in the industry.
You're not alone. This time gave us all a moment of perspective and a lot of us don't like what we see
I was thinking of posting something similar. Thanks for articulating these feelings. You’re not alone and I hope you get clarify on what comes next for you.
For sure!! There’s other industries (AdTech... if you consider that different) that don’t have as many jerks and prima-donnas. However, I’m at that 10 year mark, and am definitely not feeling particular attached to the industry either.
I realized when I stopped making career goals for myself I was over it. I hate my job now. I hope I can find something new.
Same here!!
Most of these issues are apparent in almost every industry. This Bowl enjoys pretending it’s exclusive to advertising.
Well said. I think one of the bigger issues with advertising is the feeble nature of clients and agencies having to go overboard just to appease them, let alone impress them, so they don’t cut ties after a year. Boundaries are definitely lacking in our industry, and unfortunately most account folks aren’t willing to pushback on most client asks, as absurd as they can be.
