Part 2
when i had very low number of clients and deliverables at that point. pressure all of a sudden. So from that point forward i started do to the maximum amount of work i can do in a day even if it is seems 10 min work. Because when you actually start working on that 10 min work you realise that it took you 1 hour instead of 10.
I cant even afford to delay the work given in morning to evening.
20+ clients 100+ returns 200 workpapers 1000's of pages of source document. Etc. Just keeps piling up and eventually you have
If you dont perform well clients fade away ( passed on to someone who is willing to go the extra mile)
Thanks for sharing your view on this issue.
Coz the next day you have its own task, and if you keep hovering your work to another then some day you will piled up with unmanageable work load. Also not to have this habit. Sometime it work, otherwise try to fix your workload.
Agreed. Correct expectations should be set with the leadership.
Adhoc work always piles up next morning as soon as you open your email. And if you delay the work from today it starts piling up and becomes a whole lot of work and client always sends information 1 month to 15 days prior to deadlines - there is not one client that does this.
In the worst case scenario, if the work gets spilled over to the next sprint after we highlight that the adhoc tasks came up, any idea what would happen?
Part 1
Last tax busy season I was still in the learning phase, and since we are WFH i was pretty chill working 8 hours a day and suddenly 2 of my team who worked on private wealth family of 1 all of them Caught covid and the other ones laptop was not working and i already had my deliverables to give. And i said no to the senior that i dont have availability. Eventually didnt end up the work. The very same day i was pulled into a group skype call and was embarassed to be the only one in the team working for 8 hours day and piling up the work
I've recently been in a dilemma
1. To work overtime and complete tasks on same day or
2. To work only during working hours and let the tasks spill over to next day.
I'm still holding on to the second option. But I wanted to get an understanding on why someone would choose the first option.
Thanks for your responses.
I'm sure you'll rock it buddy! All the best :)
