How’d you know 😮

If you want to become partner, stay in consulting. If you don't care to be a partner, then this is a great exit.

Particularly great at FB since they’ve done some great M&A work over the years. Amazon, while in many ways a more impressive and impactful firm, doesn’t have any absolute mega wins like Instagram or WhatsApp

Also to op- go to tech and never look back! You will love it and your wallet will thank you as well. I’m returning to tech shortly and can’t wait !

Could I use a job offer that I don’t want as leverage to get a raise? Or is it not really leverage because I don’t have the intention to actually leave. This is more of a hypothetical question.

How long after the interview day with capital one did one receive an offer?

For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2

Looking to leave my auditing position with only 3 months of experience... I'm in a relatively small firm, and my manager's micromanaging is insane... Want to go into advisory, any advice is welcome.

I left my BigLaw job earlier this year to take some time off and/or retire early. I now have an offer from an old colleague, now at a boutique, to write briefs on a contracting basis. We haven’t discussed pay yet—what would be a reasonable hourly rate to ask for?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
