We had our second one as we went into the pandemic. It’s fine.
You can’t wait for every stars to align to plan your life.
No real concern with the pandemic. I had a girl last night, baked end to end in the pandemic. As long as we you stay in, it’s doesn’t matter
Keep practicing!
Lol
Tried to postpone as well but wife is now 12 weeks pregnant. Not much to do without travel 😀
Even if the vaccines bring us back to normal I’m keeping the covid style hospital rules if we have more kids.
No visitors in the hospital made the birth of our 2nd a 1000% less stressful. Means there is actually time to breath between the nurses coming in and out to check on things.
Biggest challenges we’re facing concern socialization:
1) learning facial expressions from folks other than ourselves
2) daycare we feel is safe enough to risk
My daughter was born in August and I was worried about this. But there’s data that even with faces covered, babies learn facial expressions (think about Muslim countries, for example, where facial coverings are common practice) and childcare centers in *most* places are not super spreaders. My nephews have been in daycare since August and there has only been one potential case / exposure (did not result in any positive cases)
Seems like 9 months from now we will be more towards normality. And you’d have even longer before having to worry about daycare and such. Doesn’t seem like it’s worth waiting if it is something you plan to do anyway.

We have a 1 year old who spent almost all of her life in lockdown. In some ways it’s easier now. We are around a lot more. She loves it! My other kids were mostly alone with the nanny.
If you truly want a second don’t wait- it is eye-opening how hard it can be for some couples after 35- and it only gets harder as biology starts stacking the deck against you.
