It's still usually an 8 year commitment. Even with 3 somehow you'd still be inactive reserve for a time.
Not for Marine OCC.
For any ROTC program, sure. But with no payback period, the times requirements are less
I believe 3 is the shortest for Army. Can’t speak to the others, but make sure you do your homework.

It’s usually OCS, isn’t it? Pretty sure OCS has a 3 year ADSO, then it’s 4 for ROTC and 5 for service academies.
If you’re in a medical, legal, or religious field it’s possible you could have a shorter one with a direct commission, but I’m not sure.
I believe Navy is 4 after OCS.. but I would recommend looking at the Air Force first. Definitely the best WLB of all the services
Officer Candidate Course for the Marines is 3.5 years for ground side - of course, you wouldn’t want to be reserve for the Marines.
4th Marine Division is stood up as a fully active division in wartime. As a drilling reservist with active duty time, you’ll know what varsity performance looks like and will never get your unit there with <5% of the time to do it. I didn’t know what the minimum performance levels were because on active duty, everyone is trying to be the best - but boy did I learn them doing USMCR.
The Navy shifts their reservists to training roles in wartime and the USAR is much better funded
Why do you want to join?
