Jones Day?

Jones Day doesn’t pay bonuses.
This is shockingly similar to a job offer I just received. Though I’d be moving from a V10 and am more senior so base is higher. Depends on what you want. After years in big law, the slower pace and no expectation to hit over 2400 hours/give my life to this job is enticing. And the option to make big law money if I do have a higher-billable year (a certain hours threshold would get me back up to market rate including bonus) makes me less worried about the “you’ll work just as hard without the pay” thing. But definitely a personal choice that I’m also contemplating at the moment.

Compare the COL in your market to NY. Adjust the comp accordingly.
Then set that aside and carefully consider non monetary factors, including in particular the very real costs of starting over in building your reputation and relationships in a new firm.

Law recruiting/placement is very simple, and like college. Go to the best place you can for as long as you can. That will set you up for the best opportunities. You decided to be a lawyer as your career - don’t short yourself by counting hours 4 years in. The difference between a 2400 hour year and a 2000 hour year is 1.6 hours per day in a 5 day work week - you’ll be fine. You may not care about money now, but you will. Set yourself up for success.
1.6hr from 12am to 2am everyday, would you do it?
