I wouldn’t, don’t let your ego cloud your decision making. When you’re gone, they’ll figure it out just like they did before you were there.
When you get the offer
Was in the same position as you not long ago. Don't say anything until you secure the offer you want and have the right story supporting your choice. No matter how key you are or personally close you are to the Partner or team or project, it's still business. You can secure an offer and still plan an effective transition and no bridge will be burned.
No one is indispensable... Just be open about it when you are sure and negotiate proper time with your next opportunity.
Also, find out how you have work on easing transitions now, maybe by mentoring a team mate on your tasks, creating the dreaded procedures that is on everyone goals, and trying not to be unproductive. Don't burn the bridge.
Once the opportunity is definite, communicate to your boss, also open it up for potential counter if the reason is money.
Best of luck.
