TikTok converts so little of its virality into actual money spent. So, why are we being forced to make daily cringe videos to make us go viral on that app? How is this a sustainable strategy?

I don't even use TikTok, I have no clue how its still around.

Tik Tok can be a useful source to gain brand awareness it just doesn't happen as quickly ad regularly as people believe. I think that's more the problem. Everyone expects to go viral off of three videos when there's a true science and even then depending on the algorithm your video could only get a couple thousand view

Companies have sold out all of their inventory from Tik Tok but what no one tells you is that these businesses already have had large followings before going "viral"

I hate that everyone's main goal is going viral instead of build a real community with loyal costumers.

I get what you mean. But sponsorship is a big factor as well. Some users get the chance to collaborate with or be featured on big channels.

To keep up with trends, unfortunately. We are shifting from our main goal which is to promote our product or brand. I feel like going viral is now one of the main goals.

I don't know what's going on in their heads. Feels like they are slowly losing the essence or purpose of this job.

No. It is not a sustainable energy, to be honest. The public tends to change its interests from time to time.

Tell me about it. Thankfully, I am not handling our Tiktok accounts. Lol

Exactly! The fact that you have to think of new content to stay on top of the game is draining and exhausting. This is not sustainable.

Hi all, I’m in need of some career advice. Not sure where to direct my attention. I know that I don’t enjoy consulting, but I’m also fairly confident that I don’t like strategy. The things I enjoyed the most was getting into the customer’s head and figuring out what they value, which I think I’m pretty good at. I also enjoy working with others frequently and finding a solution together, instead of having individual workstreams. I can hold my own in front of a crowd as long as I’m confident in...

Hey all! My SO and I (gay dudes) are looking to move to CO/UT for 3-4 this winter to be close to the mountains and ski every weekend (+ plan to take a few weeks off). We’ve been looking at Aspen Snowmass mostly. Aspen itself seems to be too expensive but we found some affordable places in Basalt and El Jebel. Any tips from the group? What’s the best mountain to be on if our budget is 3500-4000ish/month, need space to WFH, want to be within 30min from slopes and be able to live our gay life?

Hi all, if you’re a mid or senior copywriter in LA looking to join an advertising/entertainment/tech startup on the ground floor, give a shout. You’ll be writing everything from ads featuring celebrities to blog posts, videos, ads for our platform, and probably a few hundred other things. You’ll also work with our parent company, a premier Hollywood production/management company. The role is partially remote (come for key meetings and brainstorms but work remote other days).
