Can a manager or a senior purposely have you write a self review evaluation for engagements that you obviously performed poorly on as a means to fire you or get u to quit?

Aren't you required to write self-evaluations for all engagements? You don't get special treatment for being bad at this job. Also, are you the same paranoid associate who keeps asking this question?

like

Yes

like

Technically yes, but if you want to save your ass- you can put the blame on someone/something else for your poor performance. I.e.: poor communication from management, unclear expectations, unresponsiveness from seniors, etc...this probably isn't the best route to go but then again in the end, if the manager is throwing you under the bus you need to save your ass!

like

Yes, being that your mgr can require you to submit an evaluation and if you don't then he/she will do it for you. Often better you submit the evaluation and state your case than have one submitted for you where you get no say.

Absolutely

That's what they call counsel out ...

what exactly is counseling out? are there any other signs from anybody else that youre being counseled out?

^ PC was of saying you're fired but we will give you a few more weeks to find a job before we fire you.

PARTNERS: two questions —1. If you see an associate has really low hours for the month, do you imagine them chillen on a beach somewhere or do you consider they probably spent most of their days sitting in front of the computer being “available”? 2. If you send an associate a random e-mail on a weekend like “Can you pull X and send to Y”, would you get annoyed if they responded saying they weren’t by a comp or would you consider it reasonable that they wouldn’t be by a comp on a weekend?

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?

Hi. People Manager here. I've been one for 12 years now and I encourage my team to not be "yes" people. At this time, it feels like my manager wants me and my team to be yes people for her. How do I deal with this? I've never been a yes person and I don't preach this to my reports. I don't know what to do. Help?

Someone I’ve started seeing uses they/them pronouns. I’m trying my best but still feel like I make mistakes. When I want to address them is it ok to say how are you or should I say how are they?

Are such polos allowed( look good) at Office ?
