For criminal this is not possible. Some state offices are experimenting with a 4 day work week for staff and trial attorneys. The fed trial attorneys seem to have less cases, I know AUSAs who only have 1-2 hours of hearings a week. They might be more flexible outside of court appearances.
There is an AUSA and ADA exodus to firms for better work environments post Covid so there might be a partially remote option out there but there will still be in person court appearances and trial. I agree with AA1 whatever path you’re on court appearances, especially trials, can’t be done from your living room.
If you want WFH full time as a lifestyle choice litigation might not be compatible…if you have experience you could shift to consulting as a legal expert or training litigators and market your skills that way.
Unless you get one of those robots with the iPad screens on them and have someone take said robot to court for you, I don’t see how this is possible.
Full remote as in you are not required to go into the office everyday? Or full remote as in no office and no in-person court assignments? If the former, there are a good amount of those opportunities, but be prepared for some in-person appearances
