Marriott is everywhere, why would you need status w any other hotel. Just accrue more marriott points
That’s what they want you to do. Marriott really only takes the cake on hospitality footprint...
Hilton all the way!! they'll also status match you to Diamond!!
Why do people want to earn dual status within the same offering area? The point of building status and points is to then be able to use them which requires more usage within that brand. Not to mention any lifetime statuses you might chase
Lifetime titanium is no longer offered with Marriott anyway (it was a one-time thing to avoid giving Marriott lifetime platinum to both lifetime gold and lifetime platinum members)
Research has pointed to Hyatt points being generally better. Most Hyatt hotels just look so meh and cookie cutter that I’m considering Hilton as the nicer alternative. I appreciate modern feel and international redemption options a plus.
Hyatt has recently added some amazing properties and already has some amazing properties. I would look into where you want to redeem to make that decision.
I enjoy Marriott because I know they’ll have something decent to good in every city. I would collect Hilton or Hyatt points for an aspirational trip where the Hyatt/Hilton property is better then the Marriott one and collect points based on the location.
Hyatt properties are great. I’m lifetime titanium with Marriott and still stay with Hyatt whenever possible. Much better treatment at Hyatts than I get at Marriott. Redemption rates at top properties are reasonable and, for globalists, award nights have waived resort and parking fees.
For SPG yes, but not the Marriott properties. I own a Marriott timeshare and we can convert to points. One of the retired members of a FB group did a comparison of the pre/post values. The majority of the Marriott properties now take more points to book
Hyatt has better properties and a better rewards program, but limited footprint. Hilton is basically just like Marriott but with a smaller footprint (though still far larger than Hyatt). I don’t see the point of doing both Marriott and Hilton, as they’re basically redundant. Just beware Hyatt won’t always have a property in every city you visit.
I like Hyatt over Hilton in terms of hotels but they're a smaller footprint and usually more expensive wherever I've been
it's also very easy to get more points from Hilton
Hyatt’s foot print isn’t large but their addition of small luxury hotels and decent redemption make it worth it Over Hilton . If you really wanted hilton diamond just get their credit card
Hyatt properties look like the suburbs among places to live. Boring, cheap, cookie cutter, non-modern...
