How is career and technical growth in Cognizant?
Hi Everybody,
I'm currently working as an outsource in Rapid Metro as Technical Assistant/Civil. I earned a Master degree in Water Resource Engineer after B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Due to Covid 19 I took job back in Civil sector even though I have a masters degree in WRE. It's been almost 6 months of constant applying and rejection and still I'm nowhere close to a job in my dream branch which is the Water sector.Im hopeful that through this portal I may find an entry level position in water

My job recently interviewed candidates for a data engineer role and it came down to 2 possible candidates. One had strong communication skills but OK technical skills and the other had strong technical ability but poor communication skills. They went with the strong communicator.
My boss cares really team fit. We had a smart guy didn’t get along ended up hurting the team more than helping. You can learn skills, you can’t learn easy to work with personality.
According to a Harvard Study, 85% of career success derived from Soft & People skills. Attitude is the clear winner.

Depends on the job
Depends on the org. Fitty fitty is good enough for most roles.
Team fit 1000%. And by extension, having the right manager. If your manager values your work and your attitude, and is able and willing to coach you and vouch for you, the rest is easy.
We have a great team at the office.. Manager is always willing to help and back the team up..
