I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Good lighting
Put the persons image near your webcam. You’re naturally going to be looking to their face to gauge non-verbal queues, and having it near the webcam will make it appear as if you’re speaking directly to them. I’d the image is in another part of the screen, you run the risk of making it seem like you’re looking away because you’re insecure or lying.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

I kinda bombed my remote interviews :( I can't do well with them. Willing to take advice here too.

I don't really question where I stand, tbh. I'm in a leadership position, more like a product person... but on steroids (because I have the technical chops too).
I'll take you up on that offer to connect, though!
Pro
Really good internet connection
I did a Zoom interview for my current job over a year ago because I was traveling when they wanted to meet by.
Don’t treat it any different than an in person interview. Don’t have a cluttered space around you, have a glass of water nearby and a pen and paper and your resume. Turn off all computer notifications and keep your phone on silent. Other than that it’s up to how you prepared!
Wear pants

It is important that the interviewer knows you are actively listening. Ask a clarifying question if you are at all unsure about the question.
The basics about lighting, no echo on the mic,, and looking at the camera matter.
If the interview is technical, remember all they see is your face. If you are taking notes, tell them, otherwise it seems you are just looking away.
Don't rush into the interview, build rapoir with your questions about culture since that is now a normal conversation starter. Doing it upfront instead of at the end will help build the personal bond that the handshake and coffee do in a live interview.
I appreciate the advice! Thank you.
What would be some good questions to ask my interviewers? I will be taking directly with the CD and AD for the team I would be a part of.

I forgot to say, Good Luck.
Hey thank you!!🕺
Good headsets and mic and a stable internet connection.
Just bombed my interview today ..........
Yes, I felt like there was too much time between replies, so I felt like I needed to answer quickly
It was actually on teams, and I could only see the face of the last person that talked, so I couldn't evaluate their reactions as I talked, usually it's easy to see if people are excited about your pitch or if you should emphasize more
I had trouble getting in the ''mood'' , I do think the commute and waiting in a waiting room gives you a fight mindset.
I was taking the interview and it felt ''half real''
And I really stressed more than I normally do in normal interviews
Conclusion :
I rushed what i said, I didn't even think about what to say , so I feel like I made a lot of mistakes
It was like a ''blind'' interview because you can't evaluate what the interviewers were thinking
Any advice from recent experiences? Would love to hear from both sides!
Make sure you test put how you look and the lighting in advance.

Good lighting
Be mindful of what’s on the wall behind you
Dress right
Look at the camera. Not at the screen.
Conversation Starter
Put a sticker on your door bell that says ‘baby sleeping, don’t ring bell’
LOL!
It’s definitely a different dynamic! You have to be clear about everything you say and you have to verbally communicate it too. You can’t rely on facial expressions and body language. Would you be able to practice with a friend? I would try to think of it more like a phone call rather than a face to face interview.
Had 3 rounds of successful interviewing the last 3 weeks. Always double check lighting, check your internet connection, set phone on airplane mode, make sure you’re not interrupted, have your resume printed out next to you, write down potential questions and your answers, and have a blank sheet and a pen ready.
Try to think of how the video call can actually benefit and allows you to do things that you wouldn’t be able to do in face-to-face meeting.
Pro
Dress nice, use a lot of pauses because it does get awkward when people accidentally talk at the same time. Be patient, don’t stare at yourself too much.
Put a sticky note behind the camera with an arrow down at it. They will feel like you’re making eye contact and that changes everything.
