I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.

I'm in a similar situation. I've noticed more companies are looking for dual-hatted communications folks (i.e, comms and HR, comms and internet security, etc.). I've been working in the communication field for over 30 years. These dual-hatted positions wreak of a boss who doesn't put much value in communication.
I don't have leads, but I am in the same boat, so wanted to say best of luck. You're not alone. I just went through a month-long process with an organization who then yanked the role altogether to "revise it and repost." It was like they were vetting Ambassador to France and not a writer-editor role.
Comms seems to be taking a real hit recently. It’s consistently seen as too broad and in need of qualifiers. While understandable for mid and junior roles, if it’s done to senior positions, it’s a missed opportunity at best and damaging at worst for the companies.
