Trying to find a senior/leadership role in comms (well the entirety of what in means nowadays, I do it all!!) why is it so hard? I have 10 + years of experience and it seems they asking me to be Ramses the third to qualify in terms of experience. Being Bilingual isn’t enough, now I need to be CPA and an engineer too!

Located in Canada, open to remote (globally even), hybrid mode in Ottawa region and maybe other cities in Ontario.

In need of nepotism 😂 someone please advise! Help!

I'm in a similar situation. I've noticed more companies are looking for dual-hatted communications folks (i.e, comms and HR, comms and internet security, etc.). I've been working in the communication field for over 30 years. These dual-hatted positions wreak of a boss who doesn't put much value in communication.

I don't have leads, but I am in the same boat, so wanted to say best of luck. You're not alone. I just went through a month-long process with an organization who then yanked the role altogether to "revise it and repost." It was like they were vetting Ambassador to France and not a writer-editor role.

Comms seems to be taking a real hit recently. It’s consistently seen as too broad and in need of qualifiers. While understandable for mid and junior roles, if it’s done to senior positions, it’s a missed opportunity at best and damaging at worst for the companies.

I have a great opportunity to really advance professionally and financially, but if I’m being honest, I don’t want it right now. What I’m doing works for my life right now and I enjoy where I’m at. But I also feel like I’d be nuts to pass up such a great opportunity.

My superiors are asking me to contact CEOs of debtors to chase payments. We’re in B2B and payments are usually 30 days or more. As soon as we get someone over that and they don’t provide a payment date, I’m being asked to contact their CEOs somehow and demand payment. I think it’s dumb, will hurt the relationship and I also don’t want to ruin my reputation. Thoughts?

Hello all, for those working in an agency. I wanted to see what your typical client workload is? I’ve been in my role for about a year but the workload has changed dramatically without hiring help.

Can you please share:

- how many active pitches you send per month for those clients on average

Thanks all!
