Bain & Company Trying to understand how things work in the MBB business. Let's say my home office is in Dubai and for some reason I get staffed on a 3 month long project in the US, am I going to fly back and forth every week? (It's like a 14 hour flight one way). Or am I going to stay there for a while?

Bain & Company I’m from Italy and will start my master’s degree at Oxbridge this fall. I got my undergrad from a target uni in continental Europe. I want to start my career in consulting, possibly MBB, in London. I know consulting firms tend to hire locally but I’d really like to work in London and that’s also one of the main reasons why I went for the Oxbridge degree. Anyone, who might have some tips, or went through a similar experience? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company

Obviously it’s inefficient to fly back and forth weekly. Normally you just stay there (project site country) and fly back on occasion as desired / as project work permits.

For the reverse situation (US to an international location) I know typically you stay 3 weeks then have the option to fly back - housing and food in the interim obviously covered - but you’d confirm with your teams
Dubai office gets staffed in saudi the vast majority of the time, so if you travel it will be there. There is 1 case where someone's team was in europe, and they were able to fully WFH.
Not sure other regions, but i expect the travel to be within that region.
It depends. Had a project in UK where the east coast US team generally flew back every week. We were allowed to stay over in UK, but most people were married or had a SO they wanted to get back to.
Or you just work remotely and end up on some badly timed calls. Travel is not 100% back, so this is the most likely outcome.
