My advice is give me the email of your recruiter
Don’t ever chase money. Chase good creative, and an environment that raises your standards and influences you/surrounds you with winners. Also, good agencies will help build your network with the best in the business.
$15k is pennies when the industry knows your name and work. Once I started winning awards, I got a $30k raise and recruiters started getting friendly. The money will come. Put in the work...
Go where the great work lives. Make greater work. Ask for greater salary.
Take less money. Do great work. Lie about your salary when you want a new job
Negotiate? Did you try telling #2 that you have a higher offer from #1 but that they are your top choice? At least try to get 5-10k more!
I dunno if I 100% agree with Sr CW only because 15k will raise your salary band in the future when you decide to go somewhere else and you’re talking to recruiters.
At the same time you kinda have to go with your gut because if you don’t love Place #1, no amount of money will make you happy.
(Aso, Figure out if #2 Place has long hours. If you’re taking a pay cut AND working late then no bueno, too...)
Agree, don’t chase the money. That will come later. Seems like you have two good options on the table, but I recommend you chase the work.
If you can afford to leave the $15k, leave it. Go for the experience and the work
Btw i once took one step back (back from mid to jr) to go to the shop of my dreams, did a shit ton of awards and got promoted within a year.
@AD1 Always wanted to work on this category and theirs is consistently some of my favorite work in the category. Good budgets. Make lots of work.
Always go where you think you can do better work.
No guarantee a new client is a good client. Take #2 and ask for a raise as soon as you make great work
The question is how ideal is that ideal client?
Follow the work
@AUXD1 been negotiating for a few days. They know they’re low and have been trying but can’t get it up. They also know everyone wants to work there, I’m sure
Negotiate
Who would you report to and what is their track record?
what about the people? did you click with or get a positive vibe from either one? I would 1) negotiate and then 2) evaluate based on the people I’m gonna spend 24/7 with
Money
1 take the money. They’re using a client as a replacement for cash. Clients leave. CD’s running it change. Clients cut budgets and restructure. There’s no guarantee that client will be there for you as you picture it, basically. But money will always be money
