Any book recommendations?
Slalom Consulting this might be a total long shot, but I recently finished the interview process with slalom and they gave me a *verbal* contingent offer for an incoming contract. However, I just found out I might have to relocate to Boston soon. I would love to stick with slalom as the goal company, but wondering if I could talk to the recruiter about transferring my application to the Boston office? Any advice? TY!

Have heard great things
Have been at WMP for 2 years - other comments are spot on: culture is rad, M&A is a strong practice for us, and pay is slightly below market IMO. But work life balance, leadership transparency and consistently excellent coworkers cannot be beat.
Culturally I’d say the offices do tend to take from their surroundings (I.e. little longer, if not unnecessarily so, hours in NYC than elsewhere) but the biggest difference is just the size of Chicago compared to others. I’d say the big vs. small office differences aren’t anything unexpected though.
M&A team member here, personally I love it. I came from another firm a year ago (4 YOE total now, SC). It’s the only place I’ve ever experienced where the culture is actually as good as they describe it in marketing.
The work is interesting and challenging. M&A does primarily tech DD, SMO/TMO. The people are intelligent, genuinely kind, and a ton of fun.
Ex-roommate is a salesforce consultant with them. He likes the company and plans to stick with them for the foreseeable future. The culture was/is pretty relaxed and he worked remotely all the time (pre-covid) when he wasn’t on client sites, even though his office was only a mile or so away. Work life balance was pretty typical of consulting firms (FWIW, they have unlimited PTO I believe). His only complaint was that pay was a little below market rate for his skill set/experience
They’re very good in M&A space - source was my manager who left for EY-P two years ago
