My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

I actually just ran into this a year or so ago. It has generally not been worth it.

I have asked this once before and brought up those same concerns but got hit with a bunch of “you’re selfish for not wanting to help a friend out” comments.
I agree with keeping work and personal separate. But I’m also sensitive to saying no to the friend when they know I could make something happen.

I got my friend hired and have absolutely loved it. We chat throughout the day and are both always helping each other out. She is really smart & conscientious - I wouldn’t have recommended her if I didn’t think 1) she would absolutely kill it or 2) I would enjoy working w her. To be fair, I know her work ethic really well bc we were in grad school together.
