I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Hi fishes,
Why TCS is so rude and self proclaimed kinda. I declined TCS offer last year as they were giving very less CTC. Now I got interviewed again with TCS and cleared all the rounds but they are not reactivating my ibegin portal for document upload since I rejected them last year...in this way u think they will never ever reactivate my profile.

Proud of you for taking a stand
I did the same with Plaid when interviewing for a strategic finance role. Assignment was insanely detailed and easily would have taken 20 hours.
This is probably wishful thinking, but I hope that if enough people do this, it will make companies reign in their take homes a bit
Can I ask you a few questions? I was also approached by a recruiter regarding this role.
Was it expected that it takes you a full week to do the case exercise (agree, ridiculous and abusive), or they gave you a week to do a brief exercise (respectful of the fact that you have a job and are busy so giving you a week to find the time)

If you read the above, it’s the former
Too much supply and limited demand. They’re doing this because they can! And some of them are likely ex- McK too! If it’s really worth it (compensation, fulfillment etc) go for it! I generally try to avoid herd mentality. It’s an indication you’ll be asked to do more for less, and if the industry cools down, you’ll be one amongst many looking for an exit! Struggle to get in, struggle on the way out!
Well... I was asked to do a take home data challenge and a SQL test after ONE recruiter call. I spent the entire weekend on it so probably 15 hours of work. Guess what, It’s been three days and I hear no words from them. I specifically asked in the email that I’d appreciate if the recruiter could confirm receipt of my work...
It's by design to see who's willing to cop it. So you've done them a favour by dropping out and validated the process.
I had a total of 10 interviews, including a take home assignment, and a separate presentation to land a job at Salesforce. Do you want some cheese with that whine?
They originally interviewed me for a lower position but after a few interviews they realized I'd be more suited for a senior position given my experience. The process wasn't the best though, I'll give you that. However, doing a take home assignment and 4 interviews is NBD

Is it typical for biz ops to need a case study at all? I see case studies perhaps pertinent in strategy but besides that it’s meaningless
This is fairly typical for PE interviews
No one gets an offer after a take home. Congrats on being the wiser

I also got an offer after a take home
