Was laid off earlier and still looking for a job. I’m super interested in fp&a but keep getting sr accountant opportunities. Is it worth to bit the bullet and do the sr acct role for sometime and keeping looking or wait it out? Not trying to get pigeonholed into accounting.

I’d take it while you look. Just don’t put it on your resume if you quit a month in. And be aware of the company you’re joining in the interim as you will burn a bridge (don’t do this to your dream company).

I want to work remotely, but am needing ideas for what to put on my resume. I’ve been an RN for 15 years and have worked mainly in hospitals: med surg, and some work in LTC, SNF, ALF, hospice. I have a year of teaching nursing students in clinicals and labs, and some lecture teaching. Also, I have done regional advising at a call center for 7 months. This was a good investment.

Anyone have experience as a controller/ assistant controller in an outsourced accounting firm? I recently came across an assistant controller opportunity at a company that provides outsourced accounting to businesses. I think this could be a good opportunity, since I would still be exposed to multiple clients and would ‘lead’ an accounting team while hopefully gaining GL experience at a faster rate than in a traditional role. Just want to know others thoughts? Recently promoted to manager (B4).
