We are expecting a second child in about 15 days and my first one is 2.5 yrs old. My wife took a break after our first child and we never had a nanny. Our entire family lives outside of US. With the current situation, none of our extended family members are now able to travel and help. we are worried about hiring a nanny at this point because of covid concerns. I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

My mother-in-law says he’s worked on things, but it’s been 10 years of this and I’m not sure I want such behavior around my wife and our kids since we’re trying to conceive soon (cont).

Although I have neglected my morning practice this week, I'm practicing self compassion with positive self talk.

Just completed my last shift in the ICU. I'm glad to be shifting back to the Maternatity ward. It was exhausting, and emotionally draining working with such sick patients. I know the work we did made a big difference, but I'm glad to go back to my favorite role!
