What kind of learning experience do you want your students to have?
I am leaning toward Q&A, because I would want to interact with my students. I am not a fan of lecturing, I have seen students tone me and other teachers out during lectures.
You could ask questions ahead of time and answer those questions. You could do demonstrations of topics.
What subject do you teach?
I run a flipped classroom, so I use whatever class time I have to answer questions and do a few practice problems together. It's all my high school students can handle these days 🤷♀️
There are definitely a lot of factors that are out of our control when it comes to a flipped classroom.
I'm happy to talk through how I do things if you're interested. No pressure though! Lol
I do Q & A, we only have 30 min zoom. I do a lot of games and most the learning happens on their own time through videos I create or find on a topic. I try to make my own as much as possible though. Seeing their teacher in videos is still a connection. 😁
My classes are 30 minutes. I mix it up with interactive instructional resources like Teacher Made.com, Edpuzzle, Quizizz and Kahoots! I’m getting maximum participation and I can track students in real-time.
I’ve been using quizalize and really like it. I’ve also been doing a flipped classroom style but it’s really difficult when the kids don’t do what they are supposed to before class.
