If you interviewed months ago and you haven’t heard anything back, they passed on you... do not send the CD an email. The CD is the one that passed.
Call! Soooo many recruiters ignore email (not on purpose), it slips through the cracks, etc. If you think/know the job is closed or filled, just call and ask for feedback from the interview. Lots of places will give you pointers or even just tell you, sorry we changed the role, or most recently I got “the money hasn’t come through from the client for the new hire, so we haven’t moved forward at all”
Recruiters don’t ignore individuals on purpose. However, they do intentionally ignore large backlogs of emails, not because they don’t like any of those applicants, but because most recruiters are really inefficient at their jobs and do the bare minimum.
Yeah, if it’s been months you waited way too long, sorry.
Did you follow up w the CD at all?? Call the recruiter if you’re still interested. Get your answers/closure but they probably passed. That doesn’t meant it’s a future no.
You could use that as your in- call and be breezy and positive and say you wanted to let them know you saw the job still posted and you’re interested in continuing talks with the team.
