We’re told that using AI is working smarter, but it feels like I’m handing over the keys to my career. I’m productive, sure, but I also feel like I’m automating myself out of a paycheck. Do you think AI makes us more efficient, or are we just helping the company move on from us?

AI will purely make us more efficient so we can end up taking on more work

I try to look at it this way... if AI takes over the repetitive stuff, maybe it frees us up to focus on the parts of work that actually require focus, strategy, and people skills. At least that’s what I hope.

There’s always things to improve and more work to be done. Don’t be scared of automating parts of your work that require little to no thinking

Hi all,

Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both
KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.

Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.

Thanks!

been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Hey there i got an offer from UNESCO paris as an financial budget monitor intern( in admin department) , while knowing that i like the life in Sweden better than in Paris as an outsider. (i don't speak French) can anyone tell me if it is a good opportunity? Or is it better to stay in Sweden and do ny current intern to be a consultant?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.
